The simpelest way to do it is to model it like you normaly would, then delete the player, save it the result as weapon.md2, then re-open the base and delete the gun. Then save this as tris.md2. Confusing at first, but it aint hard.

: Hi, little question about your model and the gun they use. Exactly how does Quake2 know where to put the gun model? I'm not at this point in my model yet (you guys are gonna love this one!!) but this has been puzzling me for a while now. When I open just the model tris.md2 I can see the model, and where the gun should be, but I can't figure out how to put the model and weapon together for Quake2. Help?
