: Part of the way that the install works, is that you deselect componants to be added during the installation. Did you uncheck all that you needed? You should have done the following during the install:
: - Select Normal (standard) setup
: - Uncheck following:
: Character studio --> samples,
: --> character studio
: --> sdk
: - Samples(all subtree)
: - Max sdk
: Try and reinstall with those componants removed, and then authorising will hopefully work. If you need to download the samples afterwards, I'll put them on my site for you.

Thank you James for your response, i have unchecked all of these components at the max install and i get the same message after authorizing, the other strange thing that seems to happen is that when i first go to auhtorixe max for the first time, it says that there is a previous license of max detected on the machine and a new authrize code is required, maybe this has something to do with it???
