: I'm making a transformer kind of model (that transforms) and i need to know how to make sliding objects - a cover plate that slides back and forth over something, and something like a fist sliding into an arm.
: Also, can I use seperate objects in Lightwave Layout, then save the frame as ONE object for the md2? or do i have to make just one object?

i don't suggest using seperate objects for sliding parts. if you want the least headaches acheiving this with lightwave, load up all your parts into one layer in modeler. make sure that they are all spread out enough so that you can assign a limited range for each of the bones. bring the model into layout, and then put bones in the model. place the base of the bone at the place where you want that part to pivot. once you have all the bones in place, activate them and give them a limited range with equal min/max values. once y ou have the limited ranges set, you can move all the individual parts back together, and begin animating.
