We've all seen the questionnaire with most answers indicating that the possession of 2d skills is a must, what do YOU think?
Personally, I think that drawing skills aren't a requirement, rather, the ability to communicate things such as anticipation and weight is what's important.
(This can be done with the crappiest of stick men)
The reason that this links in with 2d, is that the above items aren't easily conveyed in two dimensions, so extra skill is required to show them, it just so happens that this 2d skill can be applied to a 3d environment. Thus, 2d drawing skills only make for a quicker transition, the 3d skills can be picked up, it just takes longer.
