In my 3ds max 4 version which works I don't have the 3dsmaxcad2 or whatever it's called, it probably just contains a load of examples and stuff you don't really need to use 3ds max 5. Just do the custom Install and select the bare minimum components to install, all of those probably should be in the 3ds max 5 download you got.
