target_speaker
We'll help you put the
ambience in your level
With Quake2 you can now have
any sound thats in the .apk file playing in your level, from the radio-chatter to the
banging pipes, we'll show you how it's done
1.Firstly, create a good
sized room (300x300x300) and place your info_player_start and a light in there.
2.Now place and entity in
there and link it to a "target_speaker".
3.We now want to tell it what
.WAV to play, set it's spawnflags and key so it looks like this
"noise"
"world/amb22.wav"
4.You can look through the
.pak file and choice the file you want to play.
5.If it's an ambient sound
make sure your editor has it set to be looped through the entire level and not just played
once.
6.Compile your map and go
into Quake2 and listen to them spooky sounds :-)
